19.09.2016 Miley Cyrus Performs "Baby, I'm in the Mood for You" and Plays Phone Booth With Jimmy Fallon
On Friday night’s (Sept. 16) Tonight Show, special guest Miley Cyrus played a game of Phone Booth with Jimmy Fallon and performed a stunning rendition of Odetta’s 1965 Bob Dylan cover “Baby, I’m in the Mood for You” with The Roots. She also chatted with Fallon about her gig on The Voice, starring alongside Woody Allen in his upcoming Amazon series Crisis in Six Scenes, Ashtanga yoga moves and the Happy Hippie Foundation, her non-profit organization.
Speaking with Fallon, Cyrus said that it was Pharrell (who loved his experience coaching on The Voice) that convinced her to join the show as a coach this season. “He's like me - wouldn't say it if he didn't mean it,” she said, adding that he explained to her: “You're gonna really not be told by the producers and the directors what to do. None of that.”
“There's nothing about it that is fake,” Cyrus told Fallon.
In the pair’s Phone Booth segment (a trivia game in which a mystery guest was shoved into a phone booth with either Cyrus or Fallon after each incorrect answer) the singer found herself in close quarters with an insect expert and his tarantula, as well as a guy with a national award-winning beard.
